Aged VS Raw nickel covers?
« on: April 19, 2009, 07:14:15 PM »
Could the owners of these covers post some close ups please!! Is the raw cover meant to age quickly or what?

My Mule is on it's way to Tim for a rewind and adding a cover, I can't decide which cover I want. Would appreciate the pics!!  :D

I'll take some of my slightly dirty looking raw nickel MQs later. They are aging nicely.

The cool thing about raw nickel is that you can polish them up to a shine if you get tired of the look. If you get tired of shiny, just leave them alone and they'll start to age quickly.

This is my raw nickel cold sweat set just after I bought and fitted them. Love the finish, looks old rather than f**ked...

Raw nickel covers are simply unpolished nickel covers. I guess raw nickel ages faster because there's nothing to slow down the oxidation process, whereas aged nickel is basically raw nickel that has been oxidized to a certain point, hence the aged look. I'm not sure if this answers your question, though. On a slightly related note, I do have some pictures of my bridge holydiver which is aging nicely. I can post pictures of it new compared to how it looks now if that'll help.
