Electric slide guitar
« on: April 22, 2009, 03:56:56 PM »
I have a old Yamaha SG500 set up for slide guitar with raised action and strung in standard tuning with 15 - 56s. Its open coil humbuckers were way too hot even when screwed down they refused to be tamed and I am looking toward suitable replacements - any suggestions? what about the humbucker sized P90s?

any input appreciated

many thanks

HB sized P90's would be nice, indeed.

Mules would be nice too.

Go for some Mississippi Queens, P90s sound great for slide and they will fit right in the routes.

as a result of the 'BKs in a Jazz box' thread the Manhattans sound a good option particularly as the SG500 is strung with 15 -56s . Thanks everyone
