What should an MIJ jagstang go for?
« on: April 22, 2009, 09:03:01 PM »
A mate wants to sell one (ibanez2570z (craig, really, your favourite guitar? Username block? Anyway, carrying on)

Contemptible piece of shite IMO (and craigs) but its in good nick and blah blah blah. It is orange though. And a jagstang.

i will give you 50p and a pack of haribo

i used to really want one... and i do like jaguars, jazzmasters, duosonics and mustangs - but there is something inherently bad about the jagstangs.  i remeber the original Kurt Cobain drawings where he had just cut out and stuck the two guitars together.... and it really does look as lazy as that

keep an eye on the bay

Last time I looked on the bay at them, you were looking at about £350.

Touche!

I dont use ebay.

But craig does

Craig! Look at ebay!

~350 you say? Cheers

General idea is the so called "priced to sell", so what would be a bargain, irresistable-to-some-dolt-that-likes-jagstangs price? 300£ 250£?

Why the hell did I make this thread again when "Ibanez2570z", if that is your real name, is perfectly capable?

Anyway, ta.

There's one on there now with a BIN of £645  :?
And another at £350 with a day to go.
I reckon £350 is a good price and easy to achieve.  Could easily get more though.

^ yeah. i haven't tried a jagstang, but the MIJ/CIJ Fenders always seem to fetch a decent price- and with the pound's recent fall against the yen, that's going to make them worth even more.

Yeah yeah, problem being I don't have original pickups in. MDV will confirm what bareknuckles are in. I think I was drunk at the time but got someone to install The Sinner single coil - Bridge Single Coil and trilogy neck. O yeah I was drunk as I actually got drunk then ordered a jagstang ( feasible excuse for ordering one, being drunk).

On a semi serious note I don't think the owner I purchased it off had the originals so at least with those and Marks rudimentary set up some dick will buy it. ( no need for the hostility but I thought it added some minor effect).

MDV so the truss rod, what state was it in?

250 on evilbay sound okay?

Havent looked at it very closely yet mate. I've been changing speakers and pickups, and playing said speakers and pickups!

I'll get some strings for it tomorrow and see what its like.

So did it come with any other pickups, or did it come with the BKs? (I dont know any better than you what they are - you told me! Last you told me it was a sinner and trilogy. I couldnt even guess without amping it up and I dont have strings for it at the moment)

Just what I said in the above post. I got someone local to install those. Should be his sticker on guitar still. I am not going to comment on his work. Your work is pretty dam good so no point going further a field.

Sinner bridge and trilogy BKs.

You going to the rosehill to see the nobodys or doing any sound checks :)?  I know it's not origin but based on myspace they are pretty good for that genre of music.

Jagstang with two single coils? Do you have pics? Cos that sounds kinda tastey to me.

Ah, that guy! Thats just a cheek - a tech putting a sticker with his name on it on the guitar! (he does decent setups in all fairness though, but thats all Ive really seen from him). Thanks for the kind words on my work :)

Nobodys? Never heard of them! I'll be helping out with the sound at another rosehill gig but thats later in the month.

Haruphhh!

I suppose I can use my camera phone, but the pics will be horrible and they will be tomorrow (when the suns out, for the natural light, and when strings are on the guitar).
