Two NGDs... Now with pics

Hey guys,

The financial crisis is hitting some people pretty hard in Australia, but I seem to be one of the lucky few at the moment. A guy I know from another forum needed some cash and thanks to our stimulus package cash handouts I was able to snag his six months old ESP Forest 7; and my favourite guitar store did an awesome sale on a white Caparison Angelus HGS GM which my lovely GF fronted the cash for.

The pics of the Angelus in this post are just stock pics, but I got my hands on the F7 today, so I've uploaded pics in another post :D

Don't be mean the bankers needed the cash as they found themselves a bit short for  £350 bottles of champagne. You wouldn't want them having to cope with supermarket beer now would you?

Thanks for the replies, guys :D The anticipation really is killing me, though. And to make things worse, I'm back at uni next week, so the guitars'll arrive just as I'm meant to be getting back into focus mode, lol. And I have no idea what I want to do about my pickup situation. Argh!  :lol:

I know how you feel. I got my VHT the same day I left for Uni.

I got the F7 today. It's in dire need of a setup, but I have to decide what gauge I want to stick on it first. I'm thinking it'll be predominantly a rhythm guitar, so I'm probably going to go significantly heavier than the 9s I'm used to. I'm not sure which tuning I'll use, either. My usual tuning is Eb, but since this is my metal guitar, I might go heavier. Suggestions? :)

I'm not sure how I feel about the 707s yet. Through my Guitar Rig setup they sound pretty "meh", but they show some promise through the metal rhythm patches, so I'll not abandon hope yet. I'm planning on getting an HT5 when my TAT sells, so I'm going to stick it out with them till then. As far as I'm aware there aren't loads of pickups for me to swap them with anyway, given that they're the bass-style 7-string shape.

I'm not sure what passives would fit :-\ I'm not loving the EMGs at the moment, though. I'm waiting till I get my HT5 till I make a final decision, but I might change them out depending on what my options are.
