I got the Ax100 MKII yesterday. Its really good and straightforward to use. It worked instantly I plugged it into my Feline Lions MIDI pickup with no messing about or Tourettes! It tracks very well and I haven't tweaked any of it yet. The sounds it comes with are pretty good, some are better than others but that isn't really what this is about. I linked it up to Cubase and assigned a software based sampler, Proteus X I think its called, to take care of the sounds. Its only a bundled bit of software I got with a MIDI keyboard a few years ago but it opens up 100's more sounds and Cubase writes notation as you play ect so there's tons of things you can do with it. There's a high quality software sampler on the market called Kontact 3 by Native Instruments which I've got my eye on which has incredible sounds and power. They do a whole package of stuff which includes their amp modellers but its pricey but would do anything you wanted. You can add real samples to it yourself that are now professionally recorded using real instruments rather than synthy simulations. So its all getting there, this home play it all studio. The PC is still able to cope with it as its a P4 3.2ghz, a gig of ram and 400gig of hard drive space.
I've been reading the manual for the AX100 since 6:00 am and its not too hard to get my head around. So a bit of luck.... no I better not have any expectations......I don't want to jinx it!
