Godin Guitars

another topic inspired me to ask about this for you guys. Being in quebec, we're lucky to have godin guitars very cheap. I myself am an avid Godin electric player ( i have two hot rodded exit 22. bolt on maple neck and fretboard+mahogany body. 22 fret, really fender like neck) and i just love their feel for the price. the body woods are nice. the electronics are a bit shoddy but they're really worth changing.

anyone ever tried them? i know their acoustic line gets alot of love in europe/britain, but what about their electrics?

Godin's guitars are very good value for the price. Woods are really good quality and the craftmanship very serious.

They just lack "personnality", except the Multiac Series (especially nylon ones) which are truely charismatic. 

They are worth the be discovered, and played.

they're really not for the ibanez lovers. but then, it could be me also. my exit 22 has a 12'' radius so it's pretty slim and not really flat. their newer redline series are screamers. maple+poplar bodies with 16'' maple neck.

but year, their necks aren't for everyone. not modern by any means, save for the redline range. but then, they basically copied the neck shape of their mahogany necked models.

I have an XTSA, and I really do love it.



It does just about every sound that you can think of ... the 3 p'ups, plus the piezo, plus it drives my Roland synth.

Yup, the neck is far from flat & fast - it's a chunky one - but the finish is excellent, the feel is good and - like I say - it's a pretty flexible instrument.

Quite a few of my customers in working bands use Godin guitars for particular tracks/sequences. They really are a working musicians tool; excellent build quality, great sound  and they don't exactly break the bank. A great versatile  tool for the working musio.

I play a Godin Artisan ST VI from the very early 90s.

and it ROCKS! in laymans terms.

my wife is from quebec too, we usually visit her family once a year,:) so 2 years ago, i played a few godins in a local music store on quebec countryside, back then,but i cannot remember anymore how i liked them.
I´m also interested in the synth access models, and the seagull acoustics :) but hadnt the chance to try them out out yet

they make extremly great acoustic guitars...we visited their factory last year and i played most of the guitars from their showroom..
