.... I'm a dead man when my Mrs finds out. Was supposed to be saving for internal doors....

Anyway, before I get castrated, can anyone shed any additional thoughts on apaches - I've been using Irish Tours until now....

I posted up a comparison in the players forum that you might find useful. The APaches are a classic strat tone, not too bright but just enough edge. No ice pick highs, but less mid growl than the Irish Tours. They sound much nicer than internal doors! :lol:

You will like them I am sure. Doors are ok but they are one dimensional. You can find only so many ways to go through doors but Apaches are in a different league. You can play all kinds of stuff on Apaches. There you have it:

Apaches, better than doors.

can't wait for them to arrive. Told the Mrs last night I orderd 1 pickup - didn't have the balls to say I've orderd a pre-loaded scratch plate set of three.... maybe I need to soften her up first by a personal sacrifice of a painfull days shopping for cr@p girly things like lip gloss and things that sparkle...

I just don't tell her - she can't tell the difference between guitars if they are the same colour anyway! Oh - that and divorce! When I was between marriages I was able to squirrel away a lot of things :P

they havn't arrived yet, but as soon as they are fitted and I've giving the guitar a good pasting I'll write my own comparison from going from Irish Tour pups to a set of Apaches.
