Ok pwn up to owning a classical guitar here - how long and do you still play it - I promise it will go no further.

i still own a 3/4 sized one, it was brought from a second hand shop in reading whilst at the festival in 1998 - actually my 18th B'day if i remember right.  although i stripped it down and dyed it green and blue years ago.... oh yeah, then i retopped it  with solid spruce and braced for steel strings and watched the neck bow over the next few months.  it actually sounds fairly awesome now but is unplayable accept for slide.

tbh i wouldnt mind owning a decent one at some point

I would like to own a nice one and be able to play it well. I can only just about manage regular "walking bassline with a simple melody over the top" fingerpicking though so it'll be a while before I can do anything fancy.

I love the sound of classical guitar, so majestic! Don't have one yet, but if i did, it'd be a go-to guitar in the wee hours- quieter than a steel string, more pleasing tone than an unplugged electric :)

I have a Admira Virtuoso and I play it more than I play electric (which I'll never be good at) -  I mainly play renaissance and baroque stuff such as De Visee's guitar suites or Bach or Dowland's lute pieces - not really into flamenco (which I would never have the time to master) or Spanish classical though.

i've got one. technically it's my dad's that he got in the 70's or somewhere around there. i also just changed the strings for the first time! the old ones actually sounded really good even though they were green (the steel ones anyway).

i love fingerpicking type stuff. the only songs that i know that i'm assuming are considered classical are classical gas, angie by davey graham, and dee by rhoads.

if anyone has some suggestions for cool songs to learn go ahead and post them.

Absolutely!

I had my dad's for a while at Uni, then after getting married, my wife bought me my own (Admira Avila), which is lovely to play. I'm always much more in favour of nylon-strung guitars than steel-strung ones, it's something about the sound of them I like.
I have it out in the dining room at the minute (next to the computer now), and pick it up and strum/play quite often.

And I definitely don't feel any shame in that!

Just sold a nylon string single cut Yamaha in January.
If I get space for a lot more guitars I'll maybe get another but in the meantime I'll do without

Yes, I found one in a skip. It was my 'Lorry Guitar' for a year but I have it at home now. It's called an Angelica and its made in Japan but this model doesn't have a built in calculator.

Its alright for a Freemans.
