Looking For Wood? Ooooh dear
« on: May 13, 2009, 04:12:24 AM »
Went to Wez's site then decided to find out more about ziracote... couldn't find one in Brazilian Rosewood!

(I hope Google doesn't suggest this based on my previous search history)

oh dear!!

although i am always after ideas for using up off cuts ;)

... i was once asked to make some paddles for a friend after she visited, she seemed quite taken with the idea of a graphite reinforced spanking stick - apparently she had broken her normal one.

Brings new meaning to the term "truss rod".

Can I have her number?

I could use a "friend" like that....

I did lol at this, hehe. Unfortunately I think about things a little too deeply to leave it at that and I felt a little bit sad... Why would anyone desecrate a beautiful wood by making something as seedy as that out of it? And $119 for a sexual toy? Honestly, there are people who could live for a year on that amount of money in some parts of the world.

Reminded me of a sad "fact" I heard (put fact in quote marks because not sure how accurate it is): America spends an amount on porn per year that, if used otherwise, could write off the 3rd world debt. It sunds like a huge amount of money and almost unbelievable, but when you see the price of some of this stuff it makes you wonder that it could in fact almost be true.

Gah sorry! Might have put a downer on the thread...

Weird how searching for the most innocent stuff comes up with more nastiness than you can shake a phallus shaped stick at.

But I'm sure in those parts of the world they could have exotic wood dildos for much cheaper atleast.

Be an optimist!

Wouldn't you get a load of splinters off of those things after a while?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
And I don't think people on south america, africa, asia and others poor places with bunch of exotic woods can get the woods cheaper than europeans and north americans... my experience is that if any of you try to buy woods here will pay the same price as I pay, perhaps less, because you would be able to buy a bunch :)

Ah yes, pinch of Salt taken.

Knew I'd heard that somewhere. Problem is, half the time you don't know whether to take him seriously or not.  :D
