Digitech GSP1101 ???
« on: May 13, 2009, 09:45:02 AM »
Picking up a Digitech GSP1101 and it's associated Control2 footpedal controller this evening !  I've only heard good things about them, so I'm quite excited.
Not quite an Axe FX, but possibly the next best thing.
It's also cheap enough that I can sell it on without a loss if it's not my cup of tea.

Anyone got any opinions or experience of them ?

One question - why?  Thought your rig was spot on as it is?

Yup, not much good for late night recording though.   I'm getting back into a songwriting and recording phase.

Surely cheaper is a loss because it's lower than what you bought it for.

Unless you mean a loss of please, for lack of a better word.

Look forward to a review, just to keep in track with the topic :P

I heard very good things about it. The dedicated foot controller is also a real plus, relatively cheap for what it does.

Wow, this things good !!  Full report to come when I've had a bit more time with it. Might even become my main gig rig.

 Probably not.

At the moment, I like the tones better through the FX return of my amp into a 2x12 with greenbacks, better than going direct into my computer.
However, there's a lot of tweaking still to be done.  Wish I was better at it. I'm particularly cr@p at getting the EQ right with modellers. Real amps seem to be much easier to dial in .... I suppose it's because there are so many less options to fiddle with.

Yes it does, very easy to use.

In fact, I have to say that the interface of the whole unit is very intuitive and dead easy to use. I think I only had to refer to the manual once, for one thing. Pretty much as easy as programming a tonelab really.
