HSS Suggestions
« on: May 13, 2009, 05:33:21 PM »
Hi,

I've recently obtained a fender Koa Strat (Basswood with a Koa Veneer and maple/rw neck) and am looking to turn it into a HSS Hardrock and blues machine, able to nail chiming cleans and blues (Is this love/little wing / Shine on you crazy diamond, any SRV and John Mayer) 80's Crunch and lead  (Whitesnake-1987, Doug Aldrich on Evil or Divine live, Dokken - with George Lynch) and some R.A.T.M.

Suggestions please.... as I have no idea. But i have nailbombs in two other guitars, so i'd prefer not to have them in a third

you wouldn't use the meat knife on crusty bread but, equally, the serrated knife and straight edge knife aren't going to go through raw meat as quickly

Tim got back to me this morning and recommended the Crawler/Irish Tour/Irish Tour set, having watched the procol harum @the union chapel gig on Sky, i'm sold on the crawler for the bridge.

I'm getting it all loaded onto a p/w pickguard in tortoiseshell, with cream singles and the bridge HB in black - so i can load it all in before i move in with the girlfriend
