Fulltone OCD

Afternoon all,

Any suggestions on a cheapish (£50) pedal that will do what an OCD does? I have an OCD, could do with another for different settings, but don't want to pay out for one!

I had a Cool Cat Transparent overdrive , it sounded great but I did not like the layout, but for a forget and set I think it was great.

Low gain Dave, low gain. Too much gain always sounds too flubby to my ears. Maybe I've been using the wrong stuff for it though!

twinfan is right... although i do like using the crunchbox in a lower gain more 'boost' environment. since i'm using a marshall 2204, and the sound is similar to the crunchbox, it works very well. not suggesting you should go for it though, just putting this in as an incidental anecdote.

Get the Cool Cat Drive - I have one and an OCD v.2 and there is practically no difference between the two = different pots mean the settings are exactly equivalent and the OCD is slightly clearer - but its not a £100 difference

I've not tried the OCD before so I can't compare but I bought the Cool Cat Drive (the white one) last week and I think it's a great pedal for the price. I thought it was a bit brittle sounding at first but I found some great settings by setting the tone a lot lower than I'd normally do. Nice and fat sounding. I don't need a distortion on my board so it's not on it, but it's a fun pedal to have around. For boosting purposes though, there are better alternatives (such as my Keeley TMB :D great pedal!). I tried the Cool Cat Transparent Drive as well but I wasn't as impressed; despite the name it wasn't very transparent and a lot gainier than I'd imagined.
