Egnater Rebel,VOX Night Train,AC15 ?
« on: May 27, 2009, 09:04:35 PM »
I'm about to move back in a small appartment.I could buy,at about the same price (slightly more for the AC15),one of these amps:Egnater Rebel,Vox Night Train or Vox Ac15.Based on the vids (esp.ProGuitarShop's ),i love the NightTrain sound (thick mode)but there is no effect loop..If the AC15 could sound like the NT,it would be ideal (i like the Tremolo,Reverb) but ,in the vids (and my small experience),it's very different and not the sound i'm looking for.I kind of like the Rebel overdrive and it has nice features..What do you think? Is there anybody here who has the Egnater Rebel ? Thanks!  NB:i don't play Metal.

Don't forget the Hayden MoFo which I just love the sound of.

They'll all probably be too loud for a small apartment.
Although I've heard the Night Train being played at TV volumes in the shop, and it was quite nice.
LOVING the Mules!

I want to try an Egnater asap, someone over on music radar had one and the clips/you tube etc sound great.

This might not be exactly what your looking for but have you seen this? http://bareknucklepickups.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=17443.0

You're probably right but...neighbours will have to live with it  I'm doing my best already!Coming from my Marshall stack...No but i still have a few months (7/8) before leaving my house and it should be fun to play one of those anyway! If my rig wasn't so big and heavy,i would bring it in.The best alternative is probably the Axe-fx but it's expensive,i can't try it before buying ( i could ask Hunter ?) and, anyway,i don't think i could stay without a real tube amp very long.Even at low volume & clean tone,i just like the "feel"of a real tube amp..

The Rebel has a form of power scaling which can take the power down to 1 Watt via a control knob

I've not tried one but they look good and I can vouch for Bruce Egnater's designs being brilliant - I have his high end modular stuff.
