Continuing on the theme of dream gear, whats everyones favourite finish?
Mine is probably a really nice, dark brown burst colour, i just think it looks classy, nostalgic.
And you.....?

Depends on the guitar.

I like classic black on most. Cherry red for SG's, Tennessee Orange for a hollow body, transparant red over a burled/spalted maple top, black cherry on flamed maple. For Les Pauls, I really like gecko (green sunburst) at the moment.

I like anything that looks good! Heh. So I'm pretty open to most finishes. I've got a soft spot for good ol' sunburst finishes though--the black-brown-yellow one. And I love quilt maple with a trans finish of almost any colour, especially turquoise or red.

I was gonna go "nice one mate", but then I saw your signature... BLASPHEMY!

I love blue finishes, and if it's going to be on figured wood I far prefer a flame top to a quilt.

I really like the PRS blue matteo finish  :P

And the whale blue

Deeper/warmer shades of purple

This turquoisey 513 looks great too

My ultimate is a sonic blue Strat ( which I have) though I am also partial to Olympic white on Strats. I love that Butterscotch they do on old tele's and for Les Pauls I like Gold tops with aged cream P90's. Rics in that fireglow or whatever they call it and Casino's in the stripped down finish( like Lennon's). SG's cherry- same on 335's. I am stuck in a time warp I am afraid Gentlemen when it comes to "planks".
