even distorted output, I'd be surprised to see a Major put out anything above 200w.
speaking of crazy-loud Marshalls, they made some 200w 6x 6550 heads that could supposedly put out around 250w cranked. These were the 2000-series amps that were, by all accounts, made for/developed-with AC/DC. The Bass version used 8x 6550 and was rated for 300w clean and as much as 375w cranked.
