in a way philly - i fancy a rhoads V, but i don't fancy paying alot for it... i'm saving up for a couple of other things more important, so i can resist.

the japanese fenders are super awesome. more interesting finishes on their mustang and jaguar models than you can shake a stick at.

Probably all of the above.  But it is interesting that there are so many Japanese-market-only models.  Quite a few of them would sell internationally, I think, and wouldn't infringe any Fender or Gibson trademarks.
