So the move idea progresses, just posted an application form to a school in Ipswich. Based it more on the school than the area, but from what I've seen that area looks nice. Shall keep you all updated, driving for an interview will be a little tricky.

Suffolk is really nice.  Not been to Ipswich which I hear mixed reports about (well, been to the Tesco on the outskirts to get some beer but that's as close as I got), but I like Suffolk a lot.  Adnams is one of my favorite breweries too which is handy.

I can recommend The Sorrel Horse in Shotisham, The Ramsholt Arms in Ramsholt (oddly enough) and the chippy in Aldeburgh.

Might be heading down that way myself soon.

Development! I have an interview on Wednesday. Gotta be there for half 8, so an overnight is essential i think. Oh and I have to deliver a lesson about waves. Damn GCSE science, I love physics but got a lot of studying to do.

Good luck !    WHy not bring a guitar in to the lesson and try and get some sound wave theory into it ?   I could see it being quite a good prop.

I used a ukulele last week to demo sound waves, and I think I'll be using a slinky to show off the different types of waves next week. Though the uke idea might work again...

Come in for a cup of tea on the way back if you want.  Dunno which way your going, but if driving then I'm not far from the M1/M6/M14 junction, which you're more than likely going to go past.

If you live in Suffolk, I'll be moving into your shed.

Looks like I'm going down there next month at some point.

I'm late to this, but as you've mentioned Ipswich, here's my 2p ...

Norwich is way nicer than Ipswich.  We live c15 miles out of Ipswich and c35 miles from Norwich, but go to Norwich far more often than Ipswich.  Ipswich has grown hugely in the last 15 or so years - must be more than double the population that it was - hence its lost a lot of its original character and culture.  It has its share of "problem" areas and hence "problem" schools too, so be careful where you go if you want to enjoy your teaching life.
