NGD: BKP "The Boss" in a homebuild
« on: June 03, 2009, 12:36:16 PM »
Built over last weekend ... it's a bi-coloured Ash body with a Warmoth pre-built neck (birdseye & pau-ferro) housing a set of the "The Boss" BKPs.  The bridge p'up is a stonker - seems to be clearer and harder than the neck - but I'm happy enough with the neck too  :D

I might replace the Purpleheart cavity cover with something else - aluminium perhaps - and I'll definitely replace the black switch tip with a chrome one when I can get one.

Viddy nice!

I like the purpleheart -- gives it a jazzbox/art deco feel!

You have too many saddles on that bridge!

Is intonation a problem for 3 saddles?

Actually, I think I just asked a stupid question, lol..

Something very good :)

[anorak]AFAIK it first entered common parlance after being used by comedy duo (long forgotten) Hale & Pace for a BBC Red Nose day in the late 80s/early 90s...[/anorak]
BKPs: HD, MM, NB, PK, CS, Ab (b&n); Am (b only); VHII, Tril (n only); IT, Slow, Sult (m&n)

Really?
I definitely remember the word 'stonking' as far back as the very early 80s (any earlier than that and I probably didn't pay attention)

Nice axe Tony, like Ben said keep the purpleheart, or if you do change it maybe get some more pau ferro to match the fingerboard.
I see a rainbow rising
Look there on the horizon
And I'm coming home
