Spotify
« on: June 05, 2009, 08:05:23 PM »
Hi not sure how many people are using it at the moment. But I am quite into "Spotify"  similar to Itunes but free for streaming albums.  Only  catch every half hour you get a small advert.  For back catalouge stuff im finding it great.   Check it out!

Enjoy!

Me, my brother, and two of my friends use it.

I love it, I used to use Pandora before it became US only.

I hope this stays available in the UK, it's fantastic.

Needs a bigger database but, that'll come in time.

Really don't mind the odd add, and so far they've all been good ones like blood donors etc.

As long as Cillit Bang don't start advertising it, we'll be fine :D

I hope that in the future, it allows you to queue up your own songs from your hard drive that aren't in their database.

Would be very, very nice.

The great thing is the playlist function & the ability to share it, we've set up our setlist & shared it between all of us so that we can listen to the songs in order to make sure that it all sounds great etc

Nnnnnnnnno, this isn't quite like that. That would still be illegal.

This is like, well think of it as a Radio station that you have control over.

It's not a download service, it's a streaming service, paid by advertisements that it plays to you every 10 songs or so.

I love Spotify. I was thinking of getting a small palm top pc, an amp, speakers and you have a stereo with no CDs but with virtually all the music you would want.

love it, great for listening to stuff I never got round to

I think the business model is flawed and they'll go bust in a year though if they don't change it

whenever I hear the ad that goes "hey I'm Adam from spotify..." my brain goes "hey it looks like your writing a letter!" if you ain't seen salmon days you won't have a clue what I'm on about
