World Rugby Cup 2011 - New Zealand
« on: June 07, 2009, 06:29:08 PM »
Anyone going???
I'm DAMN tempeted to go, but I'm not sure if I'll be able because of the price
In the IRB site says the prices will be probably alike on WRC 2007, anyone knows how much it was?

Might be epic see the Haka performed in a NZ stadium with the audience perhaps performing together :D

I'll be at home labouring under the false assumption that Wales may will win. This will be fuelled by copious amounts of arguing water and crisps.

I'd love to go and see South Africa hoist the Webb Ellis again.

No idea where I'll find the cash and time...

Ill probably be in the area, because i live in New Zealand. But very little chance ill go to a game unless i get corporate box somehow. only reason i ever go to sport is for free beer and food.
Tickets will be stupidly expensive i hear. and the crowd doesnt do the haka along in the stands so dont let that sway your decision. a lot of people into rugby here but not as crazy as the south american football fans.
when the all blacks lose we dont have riots, just a large increase in domestic violence.  :(

Too bad, how expensive you think it would be? I'm not expecting it to be cheap, the football world cup tickets are more than US$200, I think will be something alike...

And the riots here are very common, but since 10 or more years it's on the shadowns, to not go to newspaper or the law prosecutors close the organizated supporters (firms?), etc... But from time to time there are reports of ambushes, spanks and deaths... Last game of my team had a death on a try of ambuching the other team's supporters... The face of the guy was unrecognizable...
But as everything on Brazil, isn't very serious the close of the firms, 4 or 5 years later they came back...

Anyway I'm thinking in going, I want to know New Zealand and if possible a jump to Australia too :D

I'll be at home ignoring it, assuming Wales won't win.  Then if we somehow make the final I'll start sticking dragon flags everywhere and talking like Bonnie Tyler.

Nah, I don't think a sport should be in the Olympics if there are more prestigious competitions in the same sport.

Rugby shouldn't be in the Olympics.  Neither should football, tennis or baseball (fortunately there'll be no baseball at the 2012 games).

Rugby was an Olympic sport many many moons ago.

Oddly enough, the Americans won the gold medal in both Olympics where rugby was played.

I think that's ok as far as you do the same of football does, rule of only 23- players with 2 or 3 exceptions...
