
New York crossover legends LIFE OF AGONY will headline the Jagermeister Stage at this year's Damnation Festival with an exclusive performance.
The group will bring their emotional blend of heavy rock and alternative metal to the UK for the first time since their sold-out show at London's Koko in 2005 following a series of dates headlining festivals across Europe.
And they'll top a stage which already boasts a wealth of diverse talent inlcuding Destruction, Therapy? and Electric Wizard with guests and opening acts still be to announced.
Damnation Festival director Gavin McInally said: "Landing a headliner of Life of Agony's stature is a major coup and the fact it's the first time they'll play the UK in four years, makes it all the more special.
"After playing some off the biggest and most respected rock and metal events across Europe this summer, they'll fly in from New York for this one-off performance and we're delighted to host what is sure to be a special show."
Damnation Festival will take place at Leeds University Union, on Saturday, October 24, 2009.
The line-up so far is: Life of Agony, Lock Up, Therapy?, Destruction, Electric Wizard, Jesu, Rotting Christ, This Will Destroy You, Akerc--ke, A Storm of Light, Mistress, Negura Bunget, Minsk, Extreme Noise Terror, Manatees, The Gates of Slumber, And So I Watch You From Afar, Charger, Stand-Up Guy and Rinoa with more bands to be announced.
