Had some great bargains lately...
First up, Dunlop Dimebag DB-01 wah
Got it for £55 and it's far, far better than any wah i've had so far (bad horsie, vox, two other dunlops...) other pedals I've used have been more like 'on off' with nothing really happening for most of the foot sweep range, but this is entirely different, actually does what I first expected a wah to do! I'll be keeping this one. Until I'm desperate.
Secondly I was after a decentish but cheap distortion pedal, because my DS-1 sucks nuts and getting distorted tones out of the Carlsbro at bedroom volumes just doesn't happen.
So, got this Line 6 AM4 for £30 on ebay, I was the only bidder, too! came from PMT romfords ebay account, it's their old stock.

I figured for £30, what the hell, if it sucks it'll at least be better than the DS-1... but damn, I really like this, at least for the money I paid.
It is, for sure, the best distortion pedal I've had (so far) for what I'm after... isn't buzzy, isn't flabby... just right for me.
I'm getting a fairly nice oldé marshall tone out fo the Plexi 45 setting, and when I switch to the funky settings on the PRS 5 way switch, those settings finally make sence!
True bypass too apparently... hmm, I'm happy. Real happy. It's turned my Carlsbro into a 5 channel beast :D
It's not something I'd record with but, for playing live or bedroom noodling and jamming, this is perfect. The most important part for me is, this feels good to play through, it feels fun. I like that.
I've heard very black and white reviews about it, people saying either it sucks nuts or rocks socks, I figure you need good gear to start off with for this to work.
Anyway, Just figured I'd put that out there... gonna hunt down a DM4 now.
DM4 vs Originals, sounds real close...
