I've never liked ice blue as a colour but the deluxe is a great guitar. I dig the mojo far more though.
Oh yeah, I gave a lot of thought to the mojo, since I traditionally like mahogany. The deciding factors for me were the extra price ($500 more, or $700 more for the mojo flame), my dislike of the JB and Jazz, and my preference for plain solid colours (and the mad sale at the store I buy from only offered mojos in the trans red or natural mahogany).
Funnily enough, my only
real experience with Parkers is my old guitar teacher's Classic, which has a mahogany body, basswood neck, and dimarzios, so I had to sort of extrapolate from that middle-point to see where I wanted to go. I kinda figured Flys to me are shreddy, "dimarzio-ish" guitars, so I went with the Deluxe. I figure if I need some more meat to the tone I can always get some Bareknuckles ;)
anyone tried the Esp Rhoads V? just wondering how the neck profile is because I know Alexi Laiho doesn't like some thin necks on Jacksons and he's pretty much the reason why ESP have Rhoads Vs
I've played a few SVs (only the floyded ones without the cutaways, though), and the necks have all been very "M2-like". However, according to the spec sheets
here, the SV Stds have the same profile as Horizons and Eclipses, while the SVs like I'm getting have the same necks as M2s. Either way, though, they're definitely chunkier than the Jackson RR necks, though not baseball bats by any stretch.
