Desert Island pedalboard
« on: June 24, 2009, 07:48:32 AM »
Okay, you can take a small pedalboard and 4 compact effects, what would be your effects?

Mine would be:-

Korg pitchblack
Xotic BB Preamp
Fulltone Deja 2
MXR Carbon Copy Delay

Remember I said compact so either something standard boss sized or if it rocks then a vox wah size.

Oh yeah, there's power, amps and guitars, tequilla and loads of fit birds on the island too

Fulltone Deja 2

Been eyeing the Deja up for a while. What's it like Tom - have you got any clips?
I think I hate being indecisive.

What I already have:

Lehle 3@1
MXR M134 Chorus (OK, it's slightly wider than a boss unit, but it's still only one effect in a single pedal, so I'm counting it!)
MXR M117R Flanger (ditto)
Morley Bad Horsie (I guess that's bigger than a Vox too, but I don't think MOrley should be penalised for other people's cr@ppy designs ;))

(OK, my pedalboard also has a Lehle Looper & MXR Phase 90, but I hardly ever use those & could easily manage without them...)
BKPs: HD, MM, NB, PK, CS, Ab (b&n); Am (b only); VHII, Tril (n only); IT, Slow, Sult (m&n)

I think my dream four pedal board would be the one I have:

Fulltone DejaVibe
Crybaby wah
TS-808 Tubescreamer
MXR Carbon Copy Delay

I'd miss a Phase 90 but I'd survive. :)

For those wanting to know about the Dejavibe, it's a really lovely pedal, perfect for all your Hendrix/Trower requirements.  I also use mine on the vibrato setting for a fakey Leslie type effect.  For sounds listen to anything Robin Trower has recorded in the last few years as he uses one a lot.
