May of slightly gone mental!
« on: July 03, 2009, 05:11:38 PM »
OK some of you may remember my thread from a while ago.

http://bareknucklepickups.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=17590.msg234627#msg234627

Well today I went to music technology in St. Austell and tried two different fret king guitars, as a gibson alternative.

To keep it short i didnt even have to plug it in to know that i loved it!

Ok so i come home thinking about that guitar how nicely resonant it was and how it would save me alot of money over a gibbo.

Ebay £562 for a Fret king Eclat 2 Blueburst. I bought it without even really thinking about it.

shitee i've spent alot of money....

I havent even played one of these. Is it mental do do something like that?

I don't mean to alarm you, but there's absolutely NO WAY I would do that! :D

But then I'm not into having many guitars anyway ;)

Yeah I've done that before, but on an RG (my RG08LTD) which doesn't really have much of a 'Ah shite, it sucks' factor. As it's an RG. It's more on LPs I think as the neck thickness, neck join, etc. could all be very different amongst Les Paul brands.

Hope it's good.

Nah, you're not insane. When you find the right bit of gear the money just isn't important anymore, it should be, but suddenly it isn't. Amp, guitar, pedal, doesn't matter what is, sometimes you just have to have it.

I'll use that justification in bankruptcy court :D

In my book, no. But then I bought a PRS SC245 without having played it, so draw your own conclusions! ;-)

Ebay's a wonderful thing! I've bought all sorts of guitars without having tried them first...

As long as you've researched the seller you should be OK.

Fun, isn't it? :-D
