YC/DC? - Live in Stockport - gig report update!
« on: July 10, 2009, 03:45:55 PM »
Fresh off the back of last week's outdoor charity gig, we're playing The Bakers Vaults in Stockport town centre tonight.  9:30pm first set, finishing up around midnight.

A Martamp, Riff Raffs, Celestions and a whole lot of 'DC will be present  :)

Maybe see a local face or two?

Seeing this thread reminded me of something I was thinking about the other day - maybe there should be some kind of  Sticky thread for people to say when they have gigs coming up?

A lot of you guys are in bands, but whenever anyone mentions a gig it's usually too short notice.
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds
BKPs I Had:  RY+Abraxas, Crawlers, BD+SM

Good point Philly - I'd been meaning to post about the gig for ages but kept forgetting  :oops:

I really, really wished I'd taken my Zoom recorder along last night.  The pub was packed, and not with friends of the band either.  We'd manged to pull a crowd based on reputation alone  :o

I had THE best tone I'd ever had last night too - incredibly good!  :D  I've just fitted two new Celestion Gold speakers to my 4x12 so the rig was:

* Epiphone SG with Riff Raffs
* Sennheiser Freeport wirelesss system
* Korg DT-10 Tuner
* Martamp M45/100 head
* Martamp 4x12 cab with Celestion Golds and Heritage G12Hs in an X-pattern

Dead simple, absolutely MASSIVE 3D tone and no earsplitting treble or dullness.  I didn't use earlplugs, played pretty loud (master volume on about 2/3rds) but no ill effects whatsover.  Just amazing.

It was a really warm night too, so in our extended set-ender "High Voltage" I went for a walk around the smokers outside and then round the back of the pub during my solo spot.  I finished up back with the band, via Mrs Twinfan's knee  ;)

Yes, yes, I'm a big show off  :D  :lol:
