Copper wristbands
« on: July 13, 2009, 03:49:53 PM »
Anyone else tried / using them?

I started wearing one about a month ago now, kept it on and washed the green off daily :) Then halfway through last week I took it off in the middle of the night when it was hot and forgot about it for a few days.
Had a few wrist pains within 36hrs, and attempting to hammer a bolt out was actually agonising :?

Also, anybody care to explain how it can be good for you? I don't actually understand

Hi Will, I am sorry to hear you are experiencing joint pain and I know you work very hard in a hard job.

You really should be using Ionised Copper Wrist Bands for the type of complaint you describe.

I would most probably guess your Chakras are out of alignment and could also benefit from a crystal healing strategy.

Then again....

it could all be SNAKE OIL robbing decent people (such as yourself) of their hard earned money and offering a false therapy based on the placebo effect and pseudo-science.

Sorry but please throw away the wristband, soak in a warm bath and don't fall for these thieving lies.

Kind of agree, but most of pain is in your head, so if it works for you the fook it, put it back on.

And how hard can it be driving about in a tractor slowing up traffic all day?
Advice worth what you just paid for it.

That post may have sounded like an attack on you and it absolutely was not intended as such at all mate.

I just get so upset that good people fall for these alternative, quack theories which almost always involve money being transferred from people who empirically make the world a better place (YOU) toward people selling lies and or false hope (healers).

More people appear to believe in some form of "magic" now than they have since the enlightenment and I think that is a very sad state of affairs indeed.

Hope you don't feel offended and feel better soon mate.  PDT_002 PDT_003

 didn't pay for it

And I should also add I was trying it in a very sceptical manner.

I took no offence at all Dave, apart from the 'very hard job'. You really have no idea how hard it is to drive a tractor  You have to stay awake AND concentrate!!! wtf is that all about

Is this a euphemism? (I'm asking, genuinely! If so it's one I've never heard before.)

 I was actually using a hammer on a bolt trying to knock it out of its place.

It should be though, sounds appropriate

I had a dog once that suffered with rheumatism as she got older. My Stepfather made some little bracelets to go around her "wrists"(or whatever the canine equivalents are called). She was far more mobile afterwards and this was in the early mid 1970's when there was far less new age cobblers. What we should have done of course was to get some pharmaceutical "cure".

(She told me though that she felt she had to make an effort on account of my Stepfather taking so much trouble making them)

Maybe, but if it also turns it green.... you might have trouble finding somewhere to put it to use.  :|

For arthritic pain unless you have a shellfish alergy I would suggest

http://www.healthspan.co.uk/halal/green-lipped-mussel-extract-ca/ProductDetail-p310-c2130013.aspx

The effect this had for my father was nothing short of miraculous and he has recommeded it to a number of people with them experiencing similar benefits. There are lots of suppliers but all are sourced from NZ.

If you still experience pain and prefer to avoid classic painkillers then tens machines can be effective for some people.

Cider Vinegar is also highly regarded. This is a bit of a sore point for me right now.My Dad is suffering very badly at the moment with arthritis and has been undergoing treatment for a while and the side effects of the drugs he has been given along with the lack of any relief is frustrating to watch. He has lost faith in the medical profession and yet his partner is a die hard believer in Doctors and their drugs and considers any traditional remedies to be quackery and so it goes on.
