I think its more comfortable to play V's like that... I play my bass' like that some times too. I would imagen a Dean ML would be comfy to play like that too.

I had a Dean ML years ago and never had a problem playing it the 'normal' way while sitting down :)

It kinda reminds me of my cello playing days, it is quite comfortable, before your back starts to hurt from craning over...

I'm guessing you slouch at the PC chair a lot.. don't.

I play on my left leg even with strats when I need to stretch a little more for solos.  For rhythm work I still prefer my right leg.

With V's, the left leg is the best way all around.. otherwise the damn thing doesn't stay still  :lol:

i use my left leg to support my guitar exclusively nowadays. more comfortable that way. and V type guitars cannot be played othervise (i know there was a time gibson used a strip of rubber on the lower horn so you could play 'normaly' but somehow, that didnt catch on .. wonder why  ROFL

i tried a Gibson V and it had some rubber on the lower side so it wouldnt slide off your knee when u played it like normal, not in the shred fashion :)
