Anyone had any experience with these?

I hear that they are awesome and im REALLY REALLY frustrated that i can't find one to play on. in particular the outlaw and roaring 40.

i dont thin martamp do a single channel stripped down high gain amp? i've checked whats on the site and i realise those amps can be tailored. I dunno man, once you get a custom amp built hear, are you really saving much on the cost of a US amp?

I think he could build it just as good for less $$.  If you look at the outlaw chassis photo, the layout is pretty simple, bread and butter to Martin I would think....

I'm sure they are nice amps but as with many of the US boutique bluiledrs (Carr, Divided by 13 etc)you are paying a lot for the kudos/name, shipping costs, import duty etc.  They often use simple tried and tested designs with a few tweaks, nothing that our amp builders couldn't do....

But if you got one I'd be first in a queue to try it out :D

purely on face value, it looks like a JCM800 style head. maybe with the extra gain stage and the 'focus' knob uses negative feedback but im not sure if its strictly a presence or a depth. Im told its a little different.

You're developing into an amp whore dude

For these kinds of amps (high gain simple design) also check the Wizard Metal and the Mako Dorado (or even the MakoPlex).

Sure Martin or one of the other amp men on hear could build as good for at least a little less

No, not a bad thing, what should I say? I've been through many amps in the past years, more than I have fingers and toes :O)

Re which XTC, as the 100B is REALLY rare and unless you run across one of these, get the 20th anniversary model. It's very similar to the 100B sound wise, but has some nice modern features, and just looks amazing, too!

You'd have the choice of power tube type, too (I'd go for EL34).

i thought i read that the classic was voiced in a similar fashion to the XTC.
Another amp that gets my interest is the Uberschall Dual Jet. but im actually quite attached to my Blue Rev now. I understand that the Uber models should be considered as different amps almost, sort of.

I spent a while looking at martins site again this morning while in work.
