Apaches on a Jimiesque track
« on: July 20, 2009, 10:09:08 PM »
Here's my Pacifica 112 with a Stormy Monday/Apache combination, but as the title tells I only used the Apaches for this recording.

I've had the main riff/groove idea for quite some time and found it, especially the intro, kinda Hendrix-like so I tried to pull off something with a resemblance to Jimi. Not so sure I got it right! My playing style just isn't that Jimiesque. There's some sloppy playing and few bummers that I didn't take my time to correct.

Hope you enjoy it.

I quite like that - good stuff. I think it would sound better if the guitar was tuned to Eb for that authentic Jimi sound!

Also, those drums sound like the programmed drums from line 6 riffworks - I must admit that I don't like them. Good stuff though!
I think I hate being indecisive.

You're quite right. This is a Riffwork recording. I would like to be able to make my own drum tracks, but I really haven't got a clue about how to do it since I'm totally new the home recording business. Any suggestions are very welcome.

Tuning the guitar to Eb sure sounds like a great idea. I must try it some day.

And lastly - thanks for the comments.

Nice tones and a nice laid back groove.

The Apaches sound pristine.  I know there's more technical clips posted but I much prefer the clips like this that capture some vibe and contain space and feeling 8)
