Irish Tour for Fender Stratocaster
« on: April 26, 2005, 01:15:19 PM »
Fitted a set of Irish Tour pickups into my Strat, and I am so pleased with the results - not only do they sound so good, they are very versatile - hard rock to chilled "Little Wing" styleee

Anyone else using Irish Tours in their guitar? What are your opinions?

I just put one in the neck of my Kamikaze ... only played for a moment or two, as I will be completing the setup tonight.

I can say from my 5 minutes of noodling, however, that I was BLOWN AWAY by the sound ... sooo full sounding and woody. I'm used to rail pups in my single coil spaces. I've never owned a true single coil pup before. I was utterly amazed.

I have the neck pup set quite low, and only had the barest volume drop going from the bridge HB (Miracle Man) ... plus, you get all the resonance and tone from the guitar, along with the slight string pull and MASSIVE amounts of buttery fatness!! :D :D :D :D
