check out this new band...

http://www.myspace.com/firebirdblues (then have the same reaction as me when you realise who the singer and guitar play is, or rather, who he has previously played with - bit of a departure from his previous stuff).

As it turns out they're not a new band, but have been recording since 1999.  As they're a side project, I suppose they could easily slip under the radar.

Bill Steer from Carcass. I wondered what happened to him. He's from the same place as me neck of the woods as me. I used to drink with his cousin or some relation or other in the Birkey in Crosby

Kept meaning to check Firebird out, but never got round to it. Happily, the Swansea gig on their tour is 10 minutes walk from my house  :)

Oh, and they're not a side project, they're Bill's primary (and when they're done with the Carcass reunion, only) band.
