I used to do that years ago (neck bending) at the end of gigs - all the guitars survived, even pushing the headstock into the stage and leaning on it in a provocative manner so that it screamed and moaned in an oo-er-missus kinda way... It was always strats though - not sure I'd do it with a glued neck

I'm a big Frank Hannon/Tesla fan.... but I find neck bends slightly distressing to watch - especially on a V or SG!  :x

Heh, I've done those in the past.  Stole the idea from Jake E Lee IIRC.  :)

Nah, it's fine - wood bends, just think of a bow and arrow, the wooden bow bends...

Here's me doing it (gently) :D

As long as you're being careful then it should be okay...I've been doing the neck bends for about three years, but I've found a few other ways too.

I only literally push the guitar and neck when I want a little sort of...shimmer to go through the note, never a crazy half step/full step thing like he did at the end there. For those sorts of things I'd use my strumming hand to bend the string above the fret I'm sustaining, ala Randy Rhoads. Or I push the string behind the nut, ala Tony Iommi. Or I push the string down at the bridge/stop bar ala John Sykes.
