They are very cool looking guitars.

I had a Firebird Studio, a bit more basic with a set neck, humbuckers and a smaller headstock to defeat the neck-heaviness.

I don't think mine was a particularly great example, but it was pretty nice - very well-balanced so it seemed lighter than it really was.

Can be good (for the curious) or bad (for the ones with GAS alert) but this thread had to have a pic of the Firebird in question:

I've tried to get into the look of the Firebird but I just can't, sorry folks :(

I don't find the body very attractive, and I must admit that I find the headstock a bit yukky (might be because my fave guitar is a strat? dunno). I'm a confirmed Explorer man on the "way-out" gibbo designs... (I'd even take a V before a Firebird :lol:)

btw - how big are these things? I thought they were pretty massive? This Steve Conte bloke must be a giant!! He makes it look like a ukelele or something :lol:

They're not that big - the body's almost like a rounded-off Explorer.  The headstock is really elongated, though, and I think it somehow makes the whole guitar seem bigger than it is.

firebirds look great - i like the original shape, not the weird one like the keyboardist in MSG played. i also prefer one or two pickup models in natural - the brightly colour 3 pickup ones are too bling for me

I must own up and admit that they were both sold shortly after this picture was taken because of needing to bail out the daughter.

If there was any justice in this world, I'd still have the Firebird 1 but....... C'est La Vie.  :oops:
