Rebel Yell bridge pick up problem
« on: August 05, 2009, 12:20:26 PM »
Hi there, I am having trouble finding a fault on my guitar and just wondered if anyone could shed some wisdom on tis.

I have an epiphone les paul with a set of rebel yells in. The bridge pickup buzzes especially when I touch the pickup cover. I took the back plate off to look at the pots for dry joints etc and everything appears fine. However the buzzing stops/greatly reduces when I touch the wood in the back cavity of the guitar. Thsi has me very confused as I cannot see a wiring fault or earth grounding problem.

any help much appreciated. Duke

The back cavity is most likely covered in shielding paint, when you touch it you are grounding the whole thing and the buzz goes away. Like Wesley says, check your grounding! Back of pots, bridge and jack socket all need grounded.
