Looking for a 500GB+ hard drive to fit my late 2007 black Macbook.
What do you computer nerds recommend?

Thanks - yes I was looking at Seagate and WD, but I'm just a bit concerned as to whether to go for the 5400rpm that comes as standard with the macbooks, or go for the 7200rpm.
Also all the new hard drives seem to be SATA 3.0Gb/s, and I don't know if they are compatible with the Macbook. Can anyone recommend me a specific model?

I'd look on ebuyer for the best deal, should be free delivery around that price range

I'm pretty sure SATA 3.0gb/s is backwards compatible so it should be fine, anyone else care to verify? :)

as for 7200rpm vs 5400rpm in a laptop drive, I'm not up to date on that, I've never used a mac for more than 10 minutes but I'd get the 7200rpm one, the seagate ones will probably bit quieter
