NGD: Vigier Excalibur Supra
« on: August 12, 2009, 10:00:37 PM »
Yup, so here's the NGD thread for it. You all know the story.

A Vigier Excalibur Supra in Urban Green. HSH DiMarzio setup, rosewood fingerboard, 24 frets, maple neck. Fixed bridge.

the 24th fret dot spacing on vigiers does little for me - makes everything look wider and flatter than it is (and some are quite wide and flat)

look at the second photo of both guitars and compare the action - vigiers certainly do go low quite nicely

i think the ibanez is a much better looking guitar  ( i really do like that ibanez a lot) but know the vigier will be played more - its very nice!!

Links fixed, lol

And a PAF Pro and Tone Zone by the way Dave, the middle is like a FS1 or something.

Nice :) I assume its good then?

Sort of on topic, I measured up my Epiphones neck, it must be quite an odd LP because it seems fairly similar in size (width and depth) to vigier :? Just not quite so wide at the end and probably a bit of a different shape.

Everything seems to be going in the right direction to try on Tom!

And yes, its awesome. I love putting the gain on, rolling back for a little crunch and then some warm clean when I lgither/roll the volume back more, it's sooo.. enveloping. I can't describe it, it's such a good guitar and I haven't been so passionate in complimenting a guitar for long time that it almost sounds sad/weird :P

Vigiers certainly are cream of the crop and out there from the norm.

Looks great :band5:.
The latest Guitarist has a review of the new Vigier model, hopefully worldguitars will stock one and I can go check it out. Not having to worry about the neck moving or a trussrod is sooooooo good

Very Nice, I'd love to try a Vigier.
I think whoever set the height of the polepieces was trying to make them look pretty though ;)

Really nice guitar - tried out a lot of supras and they are really versatile.

thanks, so they're kinda aimed at higher gain stuff, then? the ones i tried, except for the excalibur custom, seemed to have lower output pickups :)
