Blimey, I know that pickup's "battle worn", but it looks like it was Leatherface who did the battle-wearing!

I'm looking forward to seeing how this turns out!  :D
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds
BKPs I Had:  RY+Abraxas, Crawlers, BD+SM

When I rang, I asked 'em to go hard on the top. Seems they listened!   This is going to be an apocalyptic Tele.

Great to see it there, always cool to see something of mine in someone else's place (not being stolen that is, lol). Guess I'm just weird like that, lol

Is that pickguard already aged? Whats the body finished like? Cause I'd find it weird if it was slightly relic'd but it didn't feel like it, i.e. all shiny over the relic-y bits.

Everything on the guitar is aged by Mark Jenny - body/pick guard/ controlplate / strap button - screws. The bkp looks beaten, although not a traditional relic. The Gotoh isn't aged of-course butI'll throw a cup of tea on it or something. The body actually has a very matte dulled look to it in person.

If you look through the thread I posted some big pics of the guitar body, it's really subtle - loads of cracklines across the finish that don't show up in pics.

Other than the Gotoh, it will be the neck (maple/ebony) that may look out of place but as we're going for an oil finish it wont be long untill it looks the part(the back at least)!

EDIT: The auction is still up for some reason and that has good pics of the relicing.

i think it might be nice to have the different wear on different parts - it will look just like someone took a vintage tele and butchered it buggery with a complete lack of respect for the history.... awesome, especially since its not a real vintage tele its being done to ;)

Enjoying viewing this thread and seeing what you are doing with that tele body.  Not what I would chose for a tele body but cool non the less. I look forward to seeing the finished article.

Goodluck with the rest of it

+1  though I'm disappointed that the trem doesn't say "Rhythm in jump. Dancing close to you".

Always.  I mean this Esquire project here is really good and all but can it ever really compare?

rofl Dave

I actually sent Devries a message on Facebook for a laugh, asking him why I should get him to make me a guitar rather than Suhr. His reply was amusing to say the least
