Try failing your practical test in the first five minutes because someone pulled out of a junction behind you as you were pulling over to the side.

It's all a lottery; just look at the idiots you have driving; walking into town today I went past this middle-aged woman doing about thirty in a national speed limited zone, closely followed by a younger woman cursing profusely.

definitely. while if you can't drive at all, you're going to fail nomatter what, a lot of the things which happen during the practical test are random, and if you're the unlucky one who has someone pull out in front of you and you don't deal with it properly... you're the one who fails. While 95% of the people who passed might have failed too if the exact same thing happened.

I failed my driving test when I was doing a three point turn.  A van came towards me and up the kerb on on to the path to get round me.  I failed because I reversed to give him more room, apparently I should have just sat there with my handbrake on.  They're c--ks.

Don't worry, the only real loss out of it is money and time, and its cheaper to fail the theory :P

I suppose you aren't too pleased as you could've taken it when it was the standard 35 question?

The cynic in me thinks that they have a quota of "losers" so that thye have to re take and therefore spend more on another test. Best of luck next time and I agree that many an experienced driver maybe from my era would not pass the test today-indeed there are many around that seem to have won their licence in a raffle.

+1, I failed the practical twice for very stupid reasons (grazing a curb on a parallel park etc).

The theory was very easy though, it sounds like they made it a lot harder as for me it was simple to get full marks. What exactly have they changed on it?

Hah, i failed the theory 3 times! Each time was just a point or two off, and the next time i'd beat that score, but the pass mark went up, so i still failed! Couldn't believe it took 3 tries though :p The Hazard perception was the one i couldn't do, it's just not like real driving, so you never know when to click.

You'll get there eventually :)

Being told to look out more difficult than naturally doing it. Plus the computer screen on mine made my eyes hurt, luckily I passed that.

I'm trying it again in September.

Indeed. You could be very well capable of driving but one answer wrong means you're denied it altogether. So.. it's $%&#ing annoying if you're unfortunate like myself..

I managed to pass both my Theory and Practical Test first time. 47/50 for theory, 55/75 for hazard and passed my practical with only 2 minors.

I enjoyed taking the tests and lessons which is probably why I managed to do well. In the theory I made sure I didn't over think the questions and with the practical I just relaxed and enjoyed the ride. I even managed to catch out the instructor, he told me to go left at the end of the road, so as I'm turning left at the junction, he says 'no, turn right' so I replied 'but you just told me to turn left here'. He apologised and I carried on with a smirk on my face  :lol:
