I can't blame him, if you don't defend your trademarks then they cease to be trademarks. For example one of my acquaintances runs the largest Java conference outside of JavaOne and is even sponsored by Sun who own the Java™, but they had to change the name of the conference so that it doesn't include the Java name as Sun would sue otherwise. So, Devoxx is it is. Funny old world.

children of bodom merchandise have been doing sneakers and jeans and all sorts of cr@p for a few years now, hell they even made their own fashion brand now

probably been done before but was first I saw of the stuff, KISS condoms anyone?

I don't really have strong feelings about the sneakers, at least the prices aren't grossly overinflated like the guitars'. But the case against Nike is pathetic - “irreparable harm and damage” my arse.

I have to say, though, that it's reached the point where just seeing a picture of EVH makes me want to punch him in the face.

seriously, though, those shoes actually look quite cool. i wouldn't wear them or anything, and i'm not a major fan of sponsored everything, but as philly says, they're not too bad at all.
