It's quite a slim neck on the CV Jonny (had FABULOUS frets on the one I tried) - I've got used to great big tree-trunk type necks, especially on something that sounds like a telecaster.

The Squire CV tele is possibly the tele for folks what like slim necks but want a "man's guitar"

It's what Fender call modern 'C' shape, it's thinner than the tradition medium 'C' shape used on many Fenders and Squires. It's not that it's stick thin, it's just that retro type guitars (for want on a better word) usually have larger necks. I prefer big necks, it seems that each year that goes by it's becoming harder to find guitars without thin necks  :(

I wouldn't say that?  Depends on what you like and your price point I guess....

Just a personal point of view, I'm not trying to convince anyone  :)

Yes, the price point does matter, most CS Tele's don't have thin necks. My point is that 20 years ago (when I bought my first Tele) there were no Tele's with thin necks. The Tele world was my oyster, I could pick any Tele off-the-rack and it would suit me. Back then I bought a MIJ Standard (and I still have it), now if I bought a MIA or MIM Standard, it would have a thin neck.

Things aren't all bad though. I think all the Classic Player series have medium or large necks, that's why I bough a Baja  8)

The solution to my problem is to stop being a skinflint and buy a CS Tele

Indeed!  I took mine to band rehearsal last night and it smoked a fat one  8)  It cut through the mix superbly and was plenty beefy enough for anything from Brown Sugar by the Stones to Holy Diver by Dio.

If you like Teles, the Custom Shop stuff they're putting out now is superb.
