RY vs Cold Sweat Bridge

Hey guys Ive had my RY in my 2006 LP Custom for about a year and like it quite a bit. I was considering trying the Cold Sweat bridge and was interested in opinions on the sound differences between the two. I know the RY is alnico and the CS is ceramic; is the output that much louder? Im into old school hard rock players like Jake E Lee, Rhoads and the like. Any opinions would be great. Below is a track I cut with the RY.

I do like the RY quite a bit, but you know how us guitar players are always wanting to try new things out! Just wondered if the CS would be a worthy try. I did try the Holy Diver, but it did not work out as well as the RY so who knows!

if you're really looking for a change and you want a hotter pickup, then I'll say go for it
it has a very different response from the Diver and Rebel Yell
I like it better for early Vivian Campbell, Sykes and Zakk than the Holy Diver, Nailbomb or Miracle Man, but it's not really like Randy or Jake
it's a very hot and crunchy pickup, but extremely articulated and clear

its true both pickups sound very different - but they both sound brilliant in a les paul through a marshall 2203 or 2204

I have Rebel Yells in a Les Paul Standard. I love 'em.

For sh-ts and giggles, I just ordered a Cold Sweat for the bridge position of my '68 Les Paul Custom Historic. It should arrive end of September.

Im in the same boat but have a CS and want to try RY's hmm maybe we should send eachother our pickups for a week and see if we like them  8)

I just got my Cold Sweat bridge and threw into my black reissue 68 LP Custom.

My initial first impressions playing straight into my Soldano SLO:

-output is similar to the Rebel Yell

-CS tonally has more bass and  more sizzle or high end than the RY.   RY seems to smoothly but vivaciously push the mids with a relative attenuation of the bass and treble, producing a sweeter high end than the Cold Sweat.

-CS is a  bit hotter than the stock pup which is not labelled: could be a Gibson Classic 57 but I don't know for sure; the stock has 8 output and the CS is 14.

The RY has more aggressive mids than the CS. CS has more bite in the highs and a great cut, and is more neutral in the mids. I wouldn't call it bassy, although it's certainly no wimp. The low end is really tight and tracks fast, and perhaps has the push more in the lower mids than the lows, at least in my guitar.

CS is a bit hotter than the RY, and should be quite a bit hotter than the Classic 57..

I agree that the CS isn't bassy.  But it appears to have  a bit more bass than the RY.
To my ears and the way my amp distorts, output appears similar.  But I'm no guru.  

The CS may not have been exactly what I am looking for . I will mess around with it but I think I'd like something with a sweeter or rolled off high end but with the same amount  output if not more.  

Maybe I'll stick with the Rebel Yells; they are pretty magical  in my other Les Paul Standard.  The LP Custom with the CS might be a tad brighter with the ebony board. (Both have maple caps).

Cold sweats to me have more treble and are less fat than rebel yells. But my RYs are in a McCarty, whereas the CSs are in an SG, so the guitar will impact this too.
