I love surf green finished strats, not sure if I'm completely convinced with the coloured headstock strats, I guess I'd have to see one in person.

You may be thinking of my favourite Fender colour Sea Foam Green?

Great to hear you've got one you've always wanted!

Surf Green is very cool.

I've been obsessed with Sea Foam Green for ages myself  :D

THe first time I saw a Sea Foam Green quitar was back in the early 90s, in Andy's in Denmark Street in that there London. I remember walking in and seeing this SFG Tele and simply stopping in my tracks. I can't tell you if it was a rosewood board, or a maple board, I suspect it was rosewood due to the time the colour was in production. One day I will have one.

It also looks damn sexy on a Strat, but so does Sonic blue, arghhhh... GAS!

thats really cool, but you do have to allow for natural variation in the mix as well as how the finishes age.   there is loads of variation in what can pass for these well known fender colours
