Tele Wiring (Pile Driver pickups)
« on: September 11, 2009, 03:01:47 AM »
Hi there,

I just picked up a set of pile drivers for my tele. Now.. I just don't know how to install them.

Which wire goes where? Which wire denotes what?

Would appreciate some help.

Thanks!
James

Hi James,

There should be a pictorial wiring diagram in the box with the pickups.  The black wires from each pickup go to earth, which is most commonly grounded from the back of the volume pot, the white wires hook up to the pickup selector.  The BKP wiring diagrams are good for non electrical types because they aren't a circuit diagram that many find intimidating, but are instead a picture of the finished connections.

Hope that helps a bit.

I think I saw Tim posting a pdf on here just a few weeks back (might have been for the four-way switch wiring though) - it was the source for the diagram in the box that I used...

Alas, I haven't got time to search for it right at the mo...

Welcome to the forum as well, there'll be several folks on here wanting to know how your Piledrivers work out for you :D
