Alas, you give it all away, your inner turmoil, with which you must have been fighting for weeks now, with the single phrase "Te in bteween positions were great."...

Have you so missed this, and are you so unbalanced by experiencing it again... that you can't even type straight anymore?

:D Just re-read that. Missed it first time. The small keys on my laptop are firmly to blame!

I thought that might be it - I have the same problem. Then when I go back to work on monday, I can't type on a proper keyboard again for an hour or so

dont do it Ian!!  keep that esquire a bit longer - you WILL regret letting it go!

although i still think you are a strat man at heart

I have to agree with this completely and utterly. It was shame I couldn't get to the meet, so I don't know for certain, but I have a feeling that that Esquire is something not to let go of. It obviously grabs you, and it sounds like it's one of those that anyone else playing it would covet it as well... If you went right off it, then who cares, sell it, but I don't think you're going to...

Have you still got all of your body parts? Mebbe you could sell one or two of those? (Or perhaps a relative might consider donating something?)

:D I never had any spare body parts to start with :D I've got a few things around the house that I could move on if I absolutely have to but not sure Jane will be happy about that.

I really hate being a guitary person sometimes. Endless scheming and searching for great guitars.

I think I hate being indecisive.

The Esquire is staying put for a while to be honest! At the moment it's that familiar old feeling of what can I sell. I've been there too many times before so I'm determined to keep the Esquire. I do think my best bet will be to wait and see what strats are around when I have some £s to spare. I know if I move the Esquire on I'll regret it later.

But as a one-guitar man you haven't got much left to sell, have you?

Obviously I haven't tried the Strat, but I agree with those who say keep the Esquire.  It's that little bit more unusual, I think you'd really regret selling it in years to come.

But back to that Strat... what was the neck shape like?  I think in theory a 1960 should be pretty skinny, but I don't know how vintage-accurate they've been.

BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds
BKPs I Had:  RY+Abraxas, Crawlers, BD+SM

Definitely C shape - a little bit skinnier than I was expecting but still meaty enough (for me at least). I think the most sensbile course of action is to no let my heart rule my head and hold fire for the time being.

I'm sure everyone goes through these phases at some point - don't they?

As far as stuff to sell goes you're right that I'm a one guitar man, one amp and no effects. I do have quite a lot of other non guitar related stuff that I could sell if I really wanted to - probably best not to at the moment.

Dave- apologies for the thread jack. Wish I was GAS free, maybe there should be a GAS addiction centre/support group.
I think I hate being indecisive.

Definitely - but I find if a can wait a couple of weeks (or more) many cases of GAS disappear completely.  I'm getting a bit better at that.

If the GAS is still there after two weeks or a month.... then it's a problem!
