Requesting high treble Warpig clip
« on: November 08, 2005, 07:32:27 PM »
Hey, I'm currently looking for pickups and I really like what I'm hearing when people post Warpig clips.  Lots of tight low end and clear mids. But I would like to hear some clips with a warpig under the following conditions:

1. High treble, cut mids, some bass, lots of distortion, much like what you year in Rammstein Sehnsucht era.
2. High treble, almost no bass, thin, some distortion, if you've heard of Muse (Specificaly the song Bliss) you know what I'm looking for. Rage against the machine too.

Also, can the warpig be split?

The Warpig is a pretty bassy pickup. A Miracle Man or maybe even a VHII are better for the tones you describe, IMHO.

The Warpig clips I've done have all been mid scoop on the OD pedal and the amp set on bass 1 o'clock, mid 2 o'clock, treble 4 o'clock and precence 3 o'clock. But then again, it's a bassy amp. Oh yeah, and the drop-C tuning doesn't add to the treble either.

For Sehnsucht era Rammstein go with the Miracle Man, The Warpig is more like their newer material.
Matt from Muse uses a number of our pickups, lower output than the Warpig.

He uses the Kent Armstrong Motherbucker too, which is a 27.3k output 4 pickup humbucker that has huge amounts of treble.

If the warpig can be split, that will suit fine. I'm going to put a lower output pickup in the neck position. That might be a bare knuckle also.

And since when did Matt use BK pickups? His new Manson guitars use Kent Armstrongs, Seymour duncans and Rio Grande.

His new Manson guitars have got Nailbombs, Mules, Mississippi queens and BKP 90's in them. He doesn't use SD and Rio grande any more.
He's used them for about 6 months or more now.

The Warpig can be split fine, each coil has a DC of 11.5, so its quite a heafty single coil tone.

Matt definately uses our pickups, I should know I've had his latest here and fitted the pickup myself as well as made it!We also work very closely with Hugh Manson who makes Matts guitars and whilest in preproduction for the new album Matt had asked Hugh to remove all the old pickups(Armstrongs, SDs and Rios)and replace with a selection of BKPs.A quick call to Mansons in Exeter will verify this.........I think we made a total of ten new pickups for Matt only a matter of a few months ago. I am aware that Matt is a SD endorsee and likewise Rio Grande but the truth of the matter, as so often is the case, is that he's actually 'playing' Bare Knuckle Pickups.
He's using Nailbombs, Mules and Mississippi Queens...........I think you'll find the vibe on the new Muse album quite different to anything they've done before!

Mansons is my local guitar shop. They have sold Rio Grande pups for several years there (bought a set myself). I think nearly all the guys who work in there have fitted BKPs to their own guitatrs (mostly replacing Rio Grande). I replaced a BBQ/Texas RG set for Crawlers on my Les Paul after they recommended BKPs. There are pics and details of Matt's guitars on display clearly showing BKPs fitted.
