I'm hitting here lately, but this reminds me the strat from Eddie Cleto, supposed to be the first guitar Fender made with rosewood neck... sometime ago the daughter of him showed on Warmoth forum and sent me some pics to post to her (seems like she wasn't very found on internet)... Never read this Norman Harris book, so no idea...

I like the finish on that one - blingy, but from a distance you can hardly tell it's there. 

C0cky Boy was a bit subdued at the beginning of that clip.  Then I guess the drugs kicked in.   :P
