I am at uni studying sound engineering and for my final major project I am going to try and build a small portable practice cabinet with some analogue modelling technology that focus' on making the cabinet sound like a large cab.
I'm going to post a few questions that I would really appreciate if some of you could answer.
1.Chose an amp/cab/combo that you like the sound of.
British/American?
High gain/Low gain/No gain?
What guitar are you using?
Explain how the following controls affect the sound of the amp.
Gain
Treble
Middle
Bass
Set the controls mentioned above to 12 and get a volume that pleases you. Describe the sound briefly and then what would you like to change about it?
What features would you like on your amp/cab/combo?(e.g. line in, line out, speaker select/crossover control.
How loud do you like to play when your practicing?
On Headphones.
TV Levels.
Bedroom Level.
Treated room.
Glass shattering.
Try to explain why you like to play at this level.
Is there anything else you like to do to help you achieve you preferred sound? (e.g. using a certain pedal or guitar cable length.)
