Shamray Custom Shop V (Build Thread)

Hi guys, long time since my last post!

I wanted to share with you the construction of my new Custom Shop instrument.

The guitar company is called Shamray and this will be the second guitar I order from them. (The first one turned out great!)

Serial number is CSV-0001

I made the guitar concept and I also received help from members of the Shamray community. The idea is to make a fully original concept for the company and for my own playing pleasure.

Cool! An original looking V  :)

I was about to ask what wood the wings are but noticed the link to the thread..ash.  Out of curiosity, what is the tonal target, considering the wing woods? I don't see heavy ash that often in a neck-through :)

Shamray recommended White Ash as body wings because it is a very hard, heavy and dense wood. Its density adds to a bright and clear tone with long sustain. It is also not very expensive compared to other extremely dense woods.

Yeah, it won't get muddy! The maple+ebony tone will probably be pretty dominant, the guitar being a neck-through.

It's still not as lethal shapewise as some of the B.C. Rich designs ;) Some of them look like they could kill YOU when you're playing it!
