what about this? custom 22 goldtop, with a 2cm scratch, at £700. is it a scam? or are people so picky about PRS that they won't buy one even if it has minor damage?

doesnt look like a scam - why do yu think that?
It's probably cheap at the moment because nobody's bidded for it yet. looks good - go for it if it doesnt rise too high.

i think i will

i dunno, i was just a little suspicous of it being that cheap. the seller has positive feedback for other (expensive) guitars though so it should be sweet.

:D Ok guys there seems to be some confusion from my post earlier on this topic !!

When dealing with Ebay i won`t do business with anyone that isn`t based in the UK. [ This is related to guitars]

When i said about being carefull about buying PRS`s i ment that you would receieve an Email after the sale was over. The sale was good & correct but your bids & questions, are/were being monitored by a 3rd party [criminal ] It`s from these sources that you recieve these Emails offering you guitars at unbelievable prices. Don`t fall for this as this is a Scam !!

As for the PRS Gold Top on Ebay looks fine to me, if you fancy putting a bid in do so !!  :D

what are the pickups like? from the 5 second clips on the prs site, they sound pretty bland to me, which leads to the question, which bkps would sound good in there?

what type of sound are you after, specifically?

EDIT: i see you want classic humbucker tones- do you mean classic rock humbucker tones, classic blues humbucker tones, or just plain vintage tones?

knowing nothing about it, but going by the specs, probably mule/vhII/black dog for th rock tones, stormy mondays if you're interested in vintage tones, maybe?

i've found a 1980s jap LP at a good price, so i'll probably go for it, if it works out with being able to pay by cheque. tbh, a PRS would have been stretching the budget a bit, i wouldn't be able to afford bkps for it (or indeed food  ). thanks for the input though, i may look back at getting a prs if i ever come across thosands of pounds
